I know what it feels like to carry a story you've never quite made sense of.

To sense there's a lesson in it you haven't found the words for yet.

A note from Susan...

I work with midlife adults ready to make sense of their life story, and I notice the same pattern again and again.

People have lived enough to have earned real wisdom. They know something true. They want to pass it on with clarity and meaning. And yet, when it actually comes time to say it, the words come out flat, generic, or don't come out at all.

What I see isn't a lack of wisdom, love, or effort — it's a story that's never been fully understood. I hold a deep conviction: we've lived enough life to have real lessons worth leaving behind — but we've never been taught how to make sense of a story well enough to actually pass it on — and then wonder why the people we love don't take our words to heart.

My work rests on the belief that a meaningful legacy doesn't come from remembering more, or simply writing it all down. It comes from understanding how a story lives in us — what we believed then, what we understand now — and learning how to shape that understanding into something someone else can actually trust.

Through Life Song Legacy Coaching, I use narrative-coherence and attachment-informed practices, the same understanding of how stories shape us that I've spent 25+ years developing as a clinician, to help adults examine their story, find its real lessons, and address them to the people who need to receive them.

When a story is finally understood, it stops being something carried alone — and becomes something the next generation can actually hold onto.

This work is personal to me, professional in its grounding, and generational in its hope.

For over two decades, Susan has worked alongside children, families, and helping professionals — and built the Life Song Legacy framework from that experience.

Her approach weaves together Narrative Therapy, the Enneagram, and attachment-informed practice into something both clinically grounded and deeply human.

Why Life Song?

I Created This For:

  • The parent who has poured everything into raising their children well, and still worries the lessons that matter most will never actually get said

  • The therapist or coach who can name every framework for someone else's story, and still hasn't turned that same understanding on their own

  • The person who has done the reading, the journaling, the therapy — and still has a story sitting in a drawer somewhere, remembered in detail but never quite understood

  • The grandparent who has a lifetime of hard-won wisdom and a house full of grandchildren who love them — and still isn't sure any of it will be remembered once they're gone

I created Life Song Legacy Coaching because I kept looking for something I couldn't find — a way of working with people's stories that didn't just help them remember what happened, but helped them actually understand what it meant.

I wanted something that held the clinical and the personal in the same hand. Something that took legacy work beyond simply preserving memories and into the meaning, the patterns, the places where life's real wisdom quietly lives.
